HONG KONG -- Over 400 people got vaccinated against measles Monday at vaccination stations set up at the Hong Kong International Airport to prevent the spread of measles infection, according to Hong Kong's Center for Health Protection (CHP).From Jan 1 to March 24, 2019, 20 measles cases have been registered in Hong Kong, a spokesperson of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government's Health Department told Xinhua on Monday. This number is higher than the annual totals of the past few years.Out of the 20 cases, at least nine have been categorized as imported cases and several recent cases concern people working at the Hong Kong International Airport. The CHP held a health talk on Friday at the airport to deliver measles-related health advice, and set up a vaccination station on Saturday at the airport to provide measles vaccination to non-immune people working there."This mop-up measles vaccination exercise aims to protect those non-immune to measles. For those who was born before 1967 in Hong Kong, it is expected that they have contracted measles in the past and thus have antibodies against measles. Separately, those who have received two doses of measles-containing vaccine will also be protected against measles," a CHP spokesman explained. The vaccination services were enhanced on Monday. According to the CHP, another vaccination station has been set up at the airport, and on Monday alone 484 people received measles vaccination at the stations. online silicone wristband maker

Hu Jinglin, head of the National Healthcare Security Administration. [Photo/Xinhua] China plans to ramp up its crackdown on heathcare scams as fraudulent practices are still severe and prevalent in the country's medical insurance sector, Hu Jinglin, head of the National Healthcare Security Administration, said on Sunday afternoon on the sidelines of the second session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The country's top medical security authority launched a nationwide campaign in September to discover issues and combat violations associated with healthcare insurance funds. The campaign has recovered a great deal of medical insurance money, he told reporters at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. About 66,000 medical institutions in breach of regulations have been identified, and 24,000 individuals were found to have committed frauds. However, Hu said the overall supervision and management of China's healthcare fund is still lax and loose. There is still an arduous task ahead in order to root out healthcare scams, and this task will be a top priority for us, he said. A host of measures will be rolled out, according to Hu, including increasing the number of random examinations and sample collections to make full use of the reward system for whistleblowers, and deploying information technologies, especially big data to help identify violators.
